Austin, TX (May 29, 2015) —
Walker High School in Livingston Parish, Louisiana with a population of 6,180, gets only the best for their turf and track by contracting Hellas Construction for $1.95 million to replace the existing track with the premium, collegiate-level epiQ Tracks® system and converting the natural grass field to Matrix® Synthetic Turf with eco-friendly Geo Plus Infill and a Brock® PowerBase YSR Pad underneath the turf for safety and performance. The project is scheduled for completion August 14th.
Neighboring Hellas clients Live Oak and Denham Springs made Walker High School follow trend by choosing Hellas due to its turnkey operation that provides superior products and the ability to handle construction needs from start to finish.
The project begins with the construction of new drainage, concrete walkways, and a specialized field event area that is located outside of the field dimensions. Crews will install a Brock® pad for added G-Max then Matrix® Turf with the all organic Geo Plus infill, which reduces the field surface temperature by at least 40 degrees and offers remarkable biomechanics and stability comparable to natural grass fields. In addition to this premium product line-up, Walker High School also chose the epiQ Tracks® G4000 running track – the Grand Performance System - which will be poured-in-place to finish the project in July.
“The Walker High School renovation project is and will be one of Hellas’s state of the art facilities in the state of Louisiana,”says Amy Champion, Business Development Manager in the Southeastern Region for Hellas Construction. “From the start, the stakeholders involved in this project wanted their commitment to the students and community of Walker to be known—nothing but the best. We are proud to be their partner!”
