Hellas Unanimously Selected by Georgetown ISD for Two Matrix Turf Fields with Helix Technology

AUSTIN, TX (March 3, 2016) – Hellas Construction and Georgetown ISD have previously partnered together for a variety of sports surface improvements including track installation, baseball, and softball. Now, Georgetown ISD turns to Hellas’ turf expertise to install two fields with Matrix® Turf with Helix technology to bring their football game up to speed.

On February 16, Hellas was unanimously selected, by the Georgetown ISD Board of Trustees, out of a handful of proposals, due to quality of products, quality of installation, and attention to after-sale service. Previously, Hellas turf crews have completed repairs on Georgetown ISD’s turf, which was installed by another company - showing commitment to ensuring the safety of Georgetown ISD’s athletes and community.

David Biesheuvel, GISD Executive Director of Support Services, noted that there were two key factors in selecting Hellas for Georgetown ISD’s turf installation: “Good service and good products, that’s really all it boils down to,” said Biesheuvel.

Georgetown ISD’s Athletic Director, Todd York, holds the same sentiment. “We’re very pleased to have selected Hellas to do the turf for both our athletic complex and practice field,” said York. “We believe that their exceptional quality and service were the key factors in making the selection.”

In order to keep Georgetown ISD’s sports facilities at the top of the game, Matrix Turf with Helix Technology will be installed on both the stadium and practice field. Helix is a state-of-the-art process that brings memory and tenacity, similar to that of a muscle fiber, which allows the turf to bounce back after use. The technology results in minimized fly-out, optimized aesthetics, and a highly resilient playing surface.

The practice field at Georgetown High School will be completed in April, while the GISD athletic complex will be unveiled in June; the two projects totaling $970,000. Upon completion of the fields, Georgetown ISD will have a full-range of Hellas products including epiQ Tracks, TPS Court Surfaces, and Matrix Turf for Baseball/Softball.
