AUSTIN, TX (May 23, 2016) –
Splendora Independent School District is on track for athletic facility upgrades on a large scale.
In May, Hellas began work on a $3.8 M
Design/Build project
at the home of the Wildcats. “It’s something that is needed and has been needed for a while at Splendora, and I’m glad that Hellas is the one doing the work,” said Marcus Schulz, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for Splendora ISD.
The football stadium will get a complete overhaul with the installation of new
Matrix® Turf with Helix technology
and
Realfill infill.
The curled monofilament fiber of the Helix technology will provide Wildcat athletes a stable, predictable playing surface, with the aesthetics of a natural grass field. Hellas’ Cushdrain® will be paved in place,
offering
increased drainage resulting in reduced down time. The surface will feature completely customized end zones and Wildcat logos. The stadium will be equipped with two new locker rooms to be used by the Wildcats and visiting teams.
The running track will be re surfaced with
epiQ Tracks® V300
. epiQ Tracks offer the fastest, smartest, and strongest running track surfaces on the market. As an environmentally conscious running track surface, composed of polyurethanes made in the United States, Wildcat athletes and visiting competitors alike will instantly feel a change. epiQ Tracks provide reduced foot-roll time, high-energy return strides, and lateral support.
Spectators will also experience athletic facility upgrades. New home team and visitor-side bleachers will be installed for the comfort of viewers, and restroom and concession stands will be renovated.
“Everything is going great. The process and the progress is coming along in a timely manner,” said Schulz.
The $3.8 M project will be completed and ready for Wildcat use by mid-September.
