About
Austin, TX (May 18, 2017) –
School leaders, students, and the members of the community joined together at the newly named McCoy Remme Athletic Complex on the campus of San Marcos Academy to help Hellas Construction break ground on a new football/soccer field and track at Ingram Stadium funded by Hellas’ Fields For All™ Grant program and private donations.
San Marcos Academy is the second recipient of Hellas’ new Fields For All™ grant program in less than four months. The Hellas grant and generous gifts from the Emmett and Miriam McCoy Foundation and the Steve and Don Mafrige families are helping to pay for the upgrade of the existing stadium with a new artificial turf field and a new running track.
SMA President Jimmie Scott said, “We are so grateful for these gifts and are thankful to God for providing this wonderful new facility for our students.”
Hellas Construction will be installing its Matrix®Turf with Realfill infill, and a drainage system for proper water runoff to ensure playability and longevity of the new synthetic turf surface. Hellas’ Matrix® Turf is made from monofilament, C8 Resin fibers and considered to be the most resilient, stable, and durable turf on the market. The Matrix product’s quality, performance, and longevity are unparalleled in the industry. Matrix Turf is the choice of schools and universities nationwide, and the trusted turf of the Dallas Cowboys. After over 10 years on the market, every installation of Matrix Turf has been proven without failure.
“We are amazed at how quickly the work has progressed at the site just since the groundbreaking,” said Scott. “Having this Athletic Complex completed by the beginning of school in August will provide new incentives for our teams as they prepare for football, track, soccer, Junior ROTC and various recreational activities during the 2017-18 school year,” said Scott.
Hellas Construction is the preeminent sports construction builder for professional sports organizations, schools, and universities nationwide. They are committed to giving back by expanding the opportunities for youth to participate in sports and activities in a safe environment on a safe surface.
The Fields For All program was developed to assist a wide variety of non-profit/tax-exempt organizations with building various fields, mini-sports fields, or playgrounds in neighborhoods and cities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, because to Hellas, more than the game matters. Sports help children learn to be a part of a group, learn teamwork, follow instructions, cooperate with peers, develop gross motor skills, and reap all the benefits of staying physically active.
