Seminole, TX (March 11, 2019) –
Hellas Construction continues to play ball in West Texas as Seminole High School opened the softball and baseball seasons on Matrix® turf with Helix technology. Matrix Turf by Hellas is regarded as the best playing and most natural looking synthetic softball and baseball system available. The ‘Noles didn’t stop there as Hellas also constructed the Q3000 epiQ track, which is a preferred high-quality running track system.
Seminole Athletic Director Kent Jackson says the ‘Noles softball and baseball fields will be a perfect neutral site destination for playoff games between schools in El Paso and the Midland-Odessa area when those schools have to travel to play the Texas Panhandle area teams. Seminole softball and baseball fields have alternating patterns with the spear logo positioned through the letter “S” in center field.
Not only does the Matrix turf with Helix technology by Hellas look like natural grass, but it plays with a ball roll leading to consistent hops for infielders. Hellas’ Helix technology refers to the twisted fibers that add structure, strength and better performance for the entire turf system. The pea-gravel infill on the warning track gives the outfielders a different feel under their feet so they know when they are closing in on the home run wall.
The encapsulated epiQ Q3000 poured-in-place track consists of two-component polyurethane and SBR granules. The result is a durable, resilient, textured, all-weather surface. Jackson says, “Hellas has always been about good relationships and you never have any problems when dealing with the Austin based company.”
Seminole Girls’ Athletic Director Leland Bearden guided the Noles to state championships in girls’ basketball in 2010 and 2011. He recently won his 700th career basketball game in February. The West Texas basketball powerhouse hopes for the same success on the diamond as the hardwood.

Hellas is also the exclusive turf provider of the Jacksonville Jaguars Training Center and an official partner with the Miami Dolphins at their practice facility as well.
