Taking a significant stride towards environmental stewardship, Sports Unified Europe, a subsidiary of Hellas, announced its achievement of the esteemed ISO 14001:2015 certification. This global recognition underscores the company's steadfast commitment to environmental management, economic sustainability, and social responsibility. Adhering to the stringent international standards for Good Environmental Practices, this achievement demonstrates Sports Unified Europe’s dedication to environmental protection and commitment to customers, suppliers, and the global community.
“With current environmental challenges, the need to develop policies focused on the mitigation of environmental impacts inherent to the activity of our growing organization was crucial,” says Felipe Macedo, Business Development Manager at Sports Unified Europe. “For the past 12 months, Sports Unified Europe has been implementing an environmental management system aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to demonstrate our commitment to being a good global partner.”
The implementation of Sports Unified Europe’s Environmental Management System (EMS) required the development of environmental policies and a demonstrated commitment from employees to ensure its success. These policies include principles to improve environmental protection, particularly in the prevention of pollution while also garnering the commitment of everyone in the company to adhere to the new EMS.
“Earning the ISO 14001:2015 certification brings benefits not only to the organization, but also the environment and society at-large as it allows the improvement of environmental performance and mitigation of negative environmental impacts,” states Hellas Director of ESG Edgar Cruz.
Sports Unified Europe will undergo yearly audits performed by an accredited external body to ensure compliance and alignment in accordance with the NP EN ISO 14001 reference standard.
